In iPod We Trust

Trust is clearly aiming its new SP-3600A 2.1 speaker set at users of a certain little white oblong music box.

Trust, the computer peripheral manufacturer, has launched a new 2.1 speaker set that the company blatantly describes as having a ‘modern white MAC white design’. However, Trust makes a rather coy reference to the SP-3600As being designed, “for the enthusiasts of modern and trendy accessories”. No prizes for guessing, which device that would be. Clue – it’s white, oblong and plays MP3s. Still, the influence is no bad thing, as while Trust isn’t normally associated with high style products, this set is definately a looker.

Apple clearly isn’t the only company that has had an influence on the design of the SP-3600A set. The tall thin satellite speakers also resemble Creative’s I-Trigue set. They are magnetically shielded, so that they can be placed next to CRT monitors without causing interference, and offer five watts of power. The sub-woofer is constructed of wood and is rated at 18 watts.

Trust has included a wired remote control featuring an on/off switch and a volume control. It also contains an audio input so users can easily attach certain, “modern and trendy accessories”, and even includes a 20cm audio cable to encourage people to do so.

The SP 3600A 2.1 speaker set will be available from the middle of November with a recommended retail price of £39.99 including VAT.
