Imgur kills off Pro subscription, offers unlimited uploads for free
Imgur has today announced that it is phasing out Pro subscriptions for good, instead offering the previously paid-for features free of charge.
The image-sharing website says the move is in celebration of its sixth birthday, noting that the subscription plan was originally announced on the site’s first birthday.
All users of the website will now have access to every previously Pro feature, the most tempting of which is the ability to store an unlimited number of images in your account.
Other perks include multiple thumbnail options for all uploads, complete image analytics and referrer data, and the ability to manage, edit, or delete uploaded images at any time.
You’ll also be able to interact with the rest of the Imgur community via comments, votes, and sharing.
Imgur plans to continue monetising the website through ad-based revenue, although the removal of subscriptions means no one will be able to access an ad-free version of the site.
