Apple’s rumoured plans to murder the 3.5mm headphone jack for the iPhone 7 looks set to inconvenience and annoy iOS users everywhere.
However, if the company cops flack for the controversial design change, at least it can say ‘we didn’t start it.’
The LeEco manufacturer, which launched the first USB Type-C phones last year have notched up another first.
The Le 2, Le 2 Pro and Le Max 2 will all be compatible with the new Type-C USB digital headphones and there’s no 3.5mm jack to be seen.
The Chinese firm is also releasing some in-ear buds and over-ear headphones, the latter with noise cancelling tech.
The headphones will join similar audio accessories from HTC and JBL and will be certified by a LeEco Continual Digital Lossless Audio Standard.

It’s not clear whether the company plans to launch any of the new handsets in the United Kingdom, but one will arrive in the US later this year, Engadget reports.
The flagship Le Max 2 features a 5.7-inch QHD display with Snapdragon 820 processors.
There’s a fingerprint scanner, a 3,100mAh battery and a 21-megapixel camera with optical image stabilisation.
