Huawei working on Google Glass style eyewear

Huawei has revealed that it is working on its own pair of Google Glass style glasses, with the futuristic technology set to play host to augmented reality technologies.
Fielding questions following the company’s “discover possible” MWC 2013 press conference, Huawei’s CEO of Consumer Porducts, Richard Yu suggested that the company could launch its own pair of technologically advanced glasses with “five to ten years.”
“We are doing a lot of research and we are doing a lot of development in our labs,” Yeu said.
Asked directly about the company launching a potential rival to Google’s Google Glass device, he added: “I wish we could show you what we are working on for over the next five to ten years, including glasses.”
Although the company’s product head failed to offer further details on the augmented reality optimised eyewear, he teasingly added: “We want to make it possible.”
With Google having captured consumers imaginations with the upcoming Google Glass eyewear, a pair of camera incorporating specs which will allow users to record point-of-view video content as well as receive heads-up display details around location based details and incoming messages and alerts, interest has grown in the emerging market.

Whilst Google Glass is not yet currently available for consumer purchase, the search giant turn hardware manufacturer has release a raft of recent teaser videos showcasing the capabilities of the future technology.
