Huawei reported to be building Nexus 6P successor
It’s being claimed that Huawei will be getting a second run at Google’s Nexus smartphone range in 2016.
Huawei did a brilliant job with the Nexus 6P, creating the finest phone in the range and arguably the best Android phone on the market.
That’s why we’re more than willing to accept the report of Chinese electronics industry analyst Pan Jiutang (via GSMArena) when he claims that the manufacturer will be creating another Nexus flagship next year.
It’s also claimed that the new Huawei Nexus will run on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 820 CPU, which unsurprisingly promises a significant power boost over the Snapdragon 810 in the Nexus 6P.
This might seem like a natural move for Huawei and Google, but bear in mind that Huawei makes its own processors for its own-branded phones. The company recently unveiled the Huawei Mate 8 phablet, which ran on its Kirin 950 CPU.

It seems Google will be sticking with what’s shaping up to be the standard high-end Android chip for 2016. Samsung, Sony, LG, and Motorola will all reportedly be going with the Snapdragon 820 for the 2016 smartphone vintage.
Which may come as a bit of a surprise to some, given that early reports of the Snapdragon 820 suggested it was suffering from the same overheating issues as the Snapdragon 810 went through this year.
