Huawei’s new Nexus 6 could blitz the Samsung Galaxy S6 too

Yesterday’s news that the LG Nexus 5 (2015) might be incredibly powerful is followed by a new report suggesting the Huawei Nexus 6 could be equally formidable.

That’s because the Huawei Nexus 6 (2015) – like the LG Nexus 5 (2015) – has now been tipped to use Qualcomm’s upcoming flagship mobile chip, the Snapdragon 820 processor.

And it could prove more powerful than the Exynos chip inside the Samsung Galaxy S6.

A benchmark readout leaked yesterday seemingly revealed an LG Nexus 5 AnTuTu score of 85,530 – that’s the highest ever recorded by a smartphone.

The Samsung Galaxy S6 holds second place on AnTuTu’s rankings with a respectable score of 68,157.

If the Huawei smartphone uses the same chip as the LG handset, there’s no reason why it couldn’t be equally as powerful in terms of processing.

This latest leak comes courtesy of prolific rumour-spinner Evan Blass – a.k.a @evleaks – who also claims the device will use a 5.7in QHD screen.

That’s slightly smaller than the 5.96in panel used on last year’s Motorola-built Nexus 6.

It’s also reported that we’ll see a metal body and a fingerprint reader. It’s expected to ship in Q4, alongside Google’s upcoming Android M operating system.

Of course, we still don’t have official confirmation from Google, LG or Huawei that any of these rumoured handsets are actually happening, so do take all of these leaks with a pinch of salt.
