Huawei has launched a duo of new tablets during its MWC 2014 press conference, the Huawei MediaPad X1 and Huawei MediaPad M1.
The MediaPad X1 is a 7-inch Android tablet to rival the likes of the Google Nexus 7 2, while the 8-inch MediaPad M1 looks strikingly similar to the HTC One and HTC One Max.
Huawei MediaPad X1 Features
The Huawei MediaPad X1 features a 7-inch 1920 x 1200p full HD resolution IPS display encased within a body just 7.18mm thick and 239g in weight, helped by an ultra slim bezel.
These dimensions actually make it the lightest 7-inch tablet, and thanks to those slim bezels it’s also the narrowest at 103.9mm wide.
Powered by a 5000mAh battery, the MediaPad X1 features a 1.6GHz quad-core HiSilicon Kirin910 processor with 2GB of RAM and a Mali 450 GPU.
16GB of internal storage is helped by microSD card support up to 32GB, which will be handy for the photographs you may well take with the MediaPad X1’s 13-megapixel rear camera.
This rear camera has a Sony Exmor R BSI sensor with an f/2.2 aperture and a 28mm wide angle lens. Up-front there’s a 5-megapixel camera with autofocus, 22mm wide angle lens and f/2.4 aperture.
4G LTE connectivity is supported with the MediaPad X1 as standard, with no Wi-Fi only option at present. Sadly this 7-inch slate only runs Android 4.2 Jelly Bean.
It is expected to launch in the second half of this year, with full pricing details to be confirmed at a later date.

Huawei MediaPad M1 Features
The Huawei MediaPad M1 features an 8-inch display 1280 x 920p HD resolution IPS display powered by a 4800mAh battery.
Under the hood is a 1.6GHz quad-core CPU with a 1-megapixel front facing camera and 5-megapixel rear camera making up the snapper specs.
The 8-inch slate also supports 4G LTE Category 4 and comes packaged in a body just 7.9mm thick and weighs 329g.
We expect the MediaPad M1 will be significantly cheaper than the X1, but with a release date pencilled in for some time in May and pricing details still in the wind, we’ll have to wait and see.
