Huawei’s Mate 9 was a great phone with a standout screen, but if we had one criticism it would be the somewhat dull design.
Luckily, if new renders are to be believed, it seems the Chinese company has fixed that particular issue on its upcoming follow-up to the Mate 9: the Mate 10.
The renders were posted to Chinese social media site Weibo (via) and appear to show the front and back of the upcoming phone, complete with an edge-to-edge screen.

If the renders are indeed accurate, the almost full-face screen will be a first for Huawei, with the small bezel at the top and bottom of the device reminiscent of the Galaxy S8‘s design.
Round the back, it seems we can expect to see a dual camera setup, complete with the Leica branding Huawei has become known for.
Below that setup there appears to be a fingerprint sensor, suggesting the company is no closer to developing an in-display version than its larger rivals Samsung and Apple.
There also appears to be a brushed metal finish on the backplate of the phone, further adding to the improved design.
This latest leak also came with some predictions for the internals, including a Kirin 970 processor, 6.1-inch QHD display, and 6GB/64GB memory configuration.
At this point, none of this has been confirmed, however, and the renders themselves have not been verified as accurate, so take it all with a pinch of salt.
However, Huawei CEO, Richard Yu has previously confirmed the Mate 10, claiming that it will be more powerful than the iPhone 8.
There’s no confirmed release date at this point, but rumours have speculated that we’ll see the Mate 10 arrive in mid-October, possibly on the 16th.
