A photograph that was seemingly taken by the forthcoming HTC One (aka the HTC M7) flagship smartphone has been leaked onto the web.
As you can see, the image itself isn’t particularly decent or noteworthy, but the device it was sourced from most certainly is.
The image was culled from the popular photo sharing service Flickr, which has the handy tendency to log the details of the devices that provide images. On this occasion, the device used is known as the HTC One.
Of course, there’s no HTC One currently on the market, but recent rumours suggest that this is the official name of the HTC M7.
The HTC M7/HTC One has been getting people quite excited, as it’s HTC’s next flagship smartphone following on from the excellent (though generally overlooked) HTC One X and its variants.
As well as a rumoured 4.7-inch full HD 1080p display and a quad-core 1.7GHz processor, the HTC One will be most notable for its innovative camera technology.
Early rumours of a 13-megapixel camera didn’t quite tell the whole story, it seems. According to reports last week, the HTC One will feature a unique three-layer ‘Ultrapixel’ image sensor that combines three lots of information to produce each pixel. The result should be relatively sharp, noise-free images.
As we said at the outset, this image doesn’t really seem to do the Ultrapixel concept much justice, but we should get a much better look when the device is revealed at HTC’s February 19 event.
