HTC One UK release date confirmed for next week

HTC has released an official statement that reveals the HTC One will be released in the UK next week, as well as Germany and Taiwan.

Putting the delays down to the huge amount of demand for the HTC UltraPixel handset, HTC will start being stocked by UK network providers from sometime next week. Unfortunately, other countries, including the US, will have to wait until the end of April.

“HTC has seen unprecedented demand for and interest in the new HTC One, and the care taken to design and build it is evidenced in early review,” said HTC’s official statement. “The new HTC One will roll out in the UK, Germany and Taiwan next week and across Europe, North America and most of Asia-Pacific before the end of April.”

The Taiwanese company also acknowledged consumer frustration to hear the original March 15 release date had been pushed back.

“We appreciate our customers’ patience, and believe that once they have the phone in their hands they will agree that it has been worth the wait.”

HTC One Features

Sporting the new UltraPixel camera technology, the HTC One offers a stunning 4.7-inch Full 1080p HD display with an image density of 468ppi. Running the Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean OS, the flagship features a zippy 1.7GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon quad-core processor with 2GB of RAM.

The HTC One features the latest HTC Sense UI that introduces the HTC BlinkFeed functionality, turning the handset’s home screen into a constantly updating feed of information, pulling information from over 1,400 media sources for a customised notification stream.

Alongside a 2-megapixel front-facing camera, the rear UltraPixel snapper also boasts the new HTC Zoe software, which revolutionises the still photo gallery of the HTC One. Whenever the camera shutter is pressed, a 3-second video and 20 still frames are automatically taken via HTC Zoe, turning the photo gallery into an animated memory bank.

Powered by a 2300mAh battery, the HTC One also packs a duo of HTC BoomSound front-facing speakers, Beats Audio innards, Bluetooth 4.0, NFC and 4G connectivity.

Will you rushing out to pick up a HTC One when the handsets hit stores next week? Do you think the HTC One is the best Android handset out there?
