HTC One M9 shows up in photo reflection

The HTC One M9 Hima has apparently turned up in a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it leak, mere weeks before the expected launch date.

The latest sneak peek at HTC’s upcoming flagship this time comes courtesy of a reflection in an Xperia Z2 screen.

That’s right – a snap-happy HTC employee seems to have inadvertently revealed the new device via a Sony smartphone.

The pictures were part of a series of shots apparently taken with a HTC One M9, reported last week by Phandroid.

The model number of the phones used for those snaps were OPJA10 and OPJA13, which gels with an early @upleaks suggestion that the HTC One M9 would land as part of the 0PJA series.

More notable however is the fact that the device pictured seems to sport a more squared camera module, as opposed to the decidedly circular offering from its HTC One M8 forebear.

Previous leaks have also suggested that a squared-off snapper will ship with HTC’s next smartphone, so it’s looking good for the reliability of this latest tease.

HTC also seems to have confirmed rumours of the One M8’s dual-lens system being eschewed, although dual-flash appears to remain.

Otherwise, the handset appears to look largely similar, with the slightly curved metallic chassis seemingly returning for another round.

So when will this mystery finally be unravelled? All tech fingers point to March 1, right in the throes of this year’s Mobile World Congress over in Barcelona.
