HTC One M9 pre-orders open ahead of March 30 release

HTC One M9 pre-orders have opened up ahead of the phone’s eagerly awaited UK release.

With the One M9 release date having been officially pencilled in for March 30, retailers have started letting wannabe owners trade-in real money for the promise of a handset on day one.

Eager to snap up your pre-release cash, a number of sellers and networks have jumped on the early One M9 offerings, with Vodafone and EE just two of the outlets letting you prematurely splash the cash.

“EE today announced that HTC’s new flagship smartphone, the HTC One M9, is available to pre-order on its superfast 4GEE network,” an official spokesperson for the company announced.

They added: “EE is also the only UK network to offer the exclusive gold on gold variant of the handset in the UK from launch.

For those keen to adorn their pockets with the latest HTC powerhouse, the handset isn’t going to come cheap.

EE has confirmed it will offer the M9 on a 24 month contract with 1,000 inclusive minutes, unlimited texts and just 1GB of monthly data for the princely sum of £41.99 per month.

This considerable cost is further exacerbated by the £49.99 required up-front fee.

Vodafone’s pay-monthly offering isn’t much more enticing either.

With a £19 up-front fee, the M9 can be tied to a £43.50 per-month, two year tariff. Those taking up this offer will see the One M8 follow-on paired with unlimited minutes, unlimited texts and a 4GB inclusive data allowance.

Having debuted at MWC 2015 last week, the One M9 will go head-to-head with the likes of the Samsung Galaxy S6 and iPhone 6 for smartphone supremacy.

Running Qualcomm’s new 64-bit Snapdragon 810 processor alongside 3GB of RAM, the M9 pairs a 5-inch, 1080p Full HD alongside an improved, 20.7-megapixel rear-mounted camera.
