HTC One Android 4.3 update rolled out for UK handsets

A HTC One Android 4.3 update has been introduced, with the Taiwanese manufacturer confirming the software patch is now available to download for UK based handset owners.
With the company having last month teased that the HTC One Android 4.3 update was on the horizon, the manufacturer has now taken to Twitter to confirm its Samsung Galaxy S4 rival can be given a software boost in the UK.
“
Offering HTC One owners a simple step-by-step guide on how to update their handsets to the newer Android OS, the Tweet added users can find the update through “Settings > About > Software updates > Check Now!”
A minor update on the phone’s current Android 4.2.2 OS, the new Android 4.3 sees a number of small improvements made, including an enhanced RAM management which will allow the phone to run more smoothly.
Currently available for unlocked HTC One handsets, network tied iterations of the phone will receive the HTC One Android 4.3 update in the coming weeks once each individual provider has had time to test their own overlays on the software.
Earlier this week a Samsung Galaxy S4 Android 4.3 update was rolled out, with the Korean manufacturer’s phone added compatibility with the Samsung Galaxy Gear smartwatch through the software patch.
As well as confirming the new HTC One Android 4.3 update, the manufacturer has offered a more detailed timeframe for when One owners can expect to see the Google Nexus 5 introduced Android 4.4 KiitKat OS.
Responding to questions from existing HTC One owners, a HTC spokesperson added: “We’ll work with local carriers to begin the 4.4 roll for the HTC One from end of January.”
