HTC Droid DNA 1080p Android phone leaked

Information has leaked concerning a 1080p Android smartphone headed for the US called the HTC Droid DNA.

Over on the Evleaks Twitter page, an image has been posted of a device going called the HTC Droid DNA. It’s also been given the code name of ‘ADR6435 Deluxe’.

The post also mentions that this HTC Droid DNA will be coming to the American operator Verizon in “early December.”

As we’ve already hinted at, the really interesting thing about the HTC Droid DNA is that it looks likely to feature a 1080p display. In fact, it looks to be very similar indeed to the HTC J Butterfly, which launched exclusively in Japan last month.

The HTC J Butterfly features a 5-inch 1920 x 1080 (1080p) Super LCD 3 display. This next generation screen produces a phenomenal 440ppi – a pixel density that’s around 25 per cent deeper than the Samsung Galaxy S3‘s display.

As noted by Slashgear, this news of an imminent US version of the HTC J Butterfly – the HTC Droid DNA or HTC DLX as it’s previously been referred to – appears to have been corroborated by an FCC filing.

The filing features a device very similar in design to the HTC J Butterfly. It’s dubbed the HTC6435LVW, which matches up with the Droid DNA’s code name – or the ‘HTC’ and ‘6435’ bits anyway.

It’s looking likely that US customers can look forward to a full HD smartphone with a 1.5GHz Snapdragon S4 Pro processor, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage and an 8-megapixel camera.

Are you looking forward to seeing the HTC Droid DNA – or whatever it’s called – in your country? Is a 1080p display more pixels than anyone needs in a phone? Let us know what you think in the comments box below, or on the Trusted Reviews Twitter and Facebook feeds.
