Remember when HTC promised the One A9 handset would receive new versions of Android within 15 days of their release? If you don’t, here’s a reminder complete with the hashtag #BeBrilliant.
Well it turns out that promise was a right load of old cobblers.

With those hoodwinked into purchasing the Android iPhone-clone eagerly awaiting the upgrade to Nougat within the next two weeks, HTC recently sent out a tweet.

As you can see from the above, HTC has no intention of providing the update until sometime during October, November or December at the earliest.
Indeed, judging by the text above, it looks for all the world like the update for the One A9 isn’t coming until 2017.
News of the update was hidden under a exclamation of how excited HTC is to receive the final Android 7.0 software from Google.
Owners of the One A9, many of whom were likely enthused by the opportunity to by-pass the excruciatingly long wait for Android updates, will receive the update after the HTC 10.
With the HTC One A9 criticised for its copycat design, bloated price-tag and poor battery life the fast Android update vow was one of the only things the phone had going for it. Way to go, HTC!
