The HP Pavilion x360 has been launched as a convertible laptop to rival the Lenovo Yoga.
HP has highlighted than the defining feature of the Pavilion x360 is 360-degree hinge that lets the laptop adapt to its users’ various needs.
“Customers have told us they want a single device that is designed to work and play the way they do, at an affordable price,” said Pascal Bourguet, VP of Consumer Personal Systems, Printing and Personal Systems Group at HP EMEA. “The HP Pavilion x360 is perfect for today’s busy lifestyles. Its 360-degree hinge allows multitaskers to easily transition from laptop to tent to tablet – all at a price that is similar to an entry-level notebook.”

The HP Pavilions 360 has an 11.6-inch HD SVA display with 10-point capacitive multitouch and runs on either an Intel Pentium or Celeron processor, which can be customised to your preference.
It also features an HP TrueVision HD webcam for video-calling, while audio quality is helped by the Pavilion x360’s in-built dual speakers with Beats Audio technology.
Available in Brilliant Red or Smoke Silver, the x360 features a soft-touch finish and brushed aluminium detailing.
Very similar to the Lenovo Yoga laptops, there are various “modes” in which to use the Pavilion x360.
There’s the normal Netbook Mode, which lets you operate the laptop in the usual manner, with the keyboard and display both accessible.
Stand Mode is where you rest the laptop on the keyboard so you can just use the display alone. Tent mode – something directly referred to by Lenovo – is very similar but sees the laptop stand in an upside down V shape.
Finally, you can flip the keyboard completely underneath the display for Tablet Mode.

The HP Pavilion x360 release date has been set for March with a starting price of £349.99.
