HP Delivers Eight New SOHO Printers

Four for the home office, four for the office. Can't say fairer than that.

Printers are like buses, they never come one at a time. Other than that printers are nothing like buses at all. Buses are red, have wheels, take you places, smell of old people… Anyway, HP has eight new printers.

Now, there is only so much specification repetition and printer photo editing I can take so let’s approach these in batches. In the left corner, weighing in an at some utterly irrelevant combined weight we have the LaserJet 1018 printer (top) and OfficeJet 4315, 4355 and 6310 All-In-Ones collectively known as the home office range.

Retailing for £79.99, £84.99, £99.99 and £169.99 respectively, the most affordable of the bunch is the only dedicated laser with the remaining trio mixing colour inkjets with fax, scan and copy facilities. The 6310 throws integrated Ethernet into the mix to justify its higher tag. We’d give you more details, but at this point HP hasn’t provided any.

Making grimacing expressions in the right corner and also weighing in at some utterly irrelevant combined weight we have the ColourLaserJet 1600 (£199 – above), 2605 (£259), 5200 (£1,149) and Jetdirect 510x External Print Server (£275). This tetralogy are bigger guns with the three printers featuring 12ppm speeds for colour pages and automatic two sided printing. The 5200 can handle A3 while the Print Server is capable of connecting up to three printers with a parallel port to a network.

Inky trails have already been left by these octuplets showing where they merrily marched into retail stores.
