Of course, the usual caveats apply. Apple’s servers are still going to be absolutely rammed with people trying to get its latest and greatest OS, so download speeds are likely to be painfully slow.

And while this version of iOS 10 is going to be significantly more stable than any of the beta software that’s been available since WWDC, the first final iteration of mobile operating systems are usually still fairly bug-ridden, so you’ll definitely want to backup your iPhone first.

All ready to make the leap? It’s really simple to download iOS 10, as it’s what’s called an OTA, or over-the-air, update. That means that all you need to do to check if it’s ready is to go to Settings on your device, and then tap on General.

After that, hit Software Update and you’ll see if iOS 10 is available. When it is, just press Install Now below the version notes and you’re away. Alternatively, just wait and Apple will likely prompt you to update to iOS 10 via a Notification.

Unless you’ve got a really reliable 4G connection, you’ll probably to update over Wi-Fi – you can also plug your device into a computer and be guided through the download process using iTunes.
