Hideo Kojima bids a sad farewell to Metal Gear and its fans

Hideo Kojima has bid a sad farewell to the Metal Gear series and its fans in a special video.
You might want to get your tissues ready before you watch the wonderful 10 minute video that serves as Hideo Kojima’s sad farewell to Metal Gear Solid.
Published on Konami’s Metal Gear Solid 5 website and entitled “Debriefing”, the video shows some of the key developers and cast members paying their respects to the game and Kojima himself.
Give it time, the video might start a little slow, and might seem a little self-indulgent. But, the debriefing is peppered with wonderful Kojima quotes and ends with a real tear-jerker moment.
“In appreciation to all the fans that have supported the Metal Gear Solid series, I have a completion report (debriefing) to communicate to all of you,” reads the caption on the MGS5 website. “I sincerely hope you like it.”

There’s also a rather moving section where Kojima pays a visit to a long-time Metal Gear Solid fan, and you get a real sense of the man’s humility.
“Rest assured that I’ve been working on making MGSV the best it can possibly be, balancing and tweaking right up until the very end. Players will not be disappointed,” adds Kojima. ” I’m sorry it took so long, but I feel we’ve created something very special and I hope everyone will enjoy it.”
“Thank you all.”
Watch it for yourself, and we bet you’ll feel just as sad about the end of this Metal Gear era as we do.
