Here’s when classic Kingdom Hearts games could finally be coming to Xbox One

The long-awaited release date of Kingdom Hearts 1.5 + 2.5 ReMix and Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue for Xbox One have emerged on the Xbox Store ahead of an official announcement.

First announced they would be coming to Microsoft’s platform at X019 last year, we now have a rough idea of when the compilation of titles will arrive in all their convoluted glory.

According to a premature listing on the Xbox Store, the release date will be February 18, 2020. This is roughly a week before Kingdom Hearts 3: ReMind will be coming to the platform, so such a launch date would definitely make sense in the grand scheme of things.

Kingdom Hearts 1.5 + 2.5 ReMix and Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue compile the majority of games in the series, meaning you can experience the plot from its inception right up until the finale of Kingdom Hearts 3. Well, it still leaves a bunch of questions answered.

These collections also feature compilations for Kingdom Hearts: 358/2 Days alongside other neat bonuses, ensuring players have all the narrative and gameplay elements required for the full Kingdom Hearts experience. Completing them all is a massive undertaking, but each package is excellent value.

“An excellent expansion on the existing RPG, building upon the original ending in some fascinatingly unexpected ways,” reads our ReMind review, which is coming to Xbox One on February 23. “However, it’s one that only hardcore fans will truly benefit from, otherwise you’ll be lost in an endless deluge of complicated character motivations and frankly silly plot developments.”

We’ve contacted Square Enix for comment and will update this piece if we receive anything further on the release date. However, it arriving on Xbox One a week ahead of ReMind does make sense, although players definitely won’t have time to finish anything in that time.
