GTA Online update to bring new Freemode Events into play

Rockstar Games has announced an update for GTA Online which will serve up new Freemode Events, challenges and Adversary Modes.

The update will arrive on September 15 for GTA 5 gamers on Xbox One, PS4 and PC and will present a host of new challenges based around randomly triggered events.

There’s a new Hunt The Beast mode, where one player within a team will be transformed into a super-powered werewolf, who the rest of the crew will have to hunt down.

The King of the Castle is an ultra-violent version of a playful childhood playground game, depending on where you grew up.

According to Rockstar (via Engadget), it’s “an every man for himself turf war where you’ll need to ascend and claim the designated castle as your territory.”

These Freemode Events will also challenge gamers to pop the longest wheelies or encounter the most near misses without crashing

Rockstar has also announced a coupe of new Adversary Modes like Hunting Pack, which is seeming a cross between Speed and Mad Max. The gamer is part of a team that’s been “tasked to deliver a priority vehicle rigged to explode if it drops below a minimum speed, while your opponents race, ram and batter to take it down.”

There’s also Cross the Line, which Rockstar says, is “where heavily-armed squads face off across a neutral zone – with the goal of having all team members strategically penetrate their opponents territory to claim victory.”

The new update coming on September 15 will also officially see the launch of Rockstar Editor on PS4 and Xbox One. See the trailer for Freemode Events below.
