GTA Online Independence Day Special DLC released

Rockstar Games has released a celebratory DLC pack for GTA Online called The Independence Day Special, in association with AmmuNation.

Celebrating the upcoming American Independence Day on July 4, you can kit your GTA Online characters out with some stars and stripes themed content.

Within the package of Independence Day content, you’ll get two “star spangled rides” – the Sovereign motorcycle and a pretty awesome Liberator monster-truck, complete with American flags flying out the back.

The game’s AmmuNation gun stores will also now stock an antique collection of weapons to celebrate the occasion, including a high-powered Musket and a Firework Rocket Launcher with Grand Union detailing.

Those of you looking to expand your GTA Online real estate, there are seven new properties to snap up including locations in Vinewood Hills and Paleto Bay.

Some of these properties have big back gardens that you’ll be able to use to put on your own firework display. Apparently there are 12 different fireworks to play with and with varying fuse lengths too.

You can also show off your American pride with some “Made in the USA” t-shirts, hillbilly mullets and animal masks.

“This special seasonal content will be available to redeem in-game until mid-July,” said Rockstar. “The automatic update for the Independence Day Special also includes additional game tuning updates and other adjustments, including the new On Call Matchmaking function. This new option allows player to accept a Job invite and continue playing in Freemode until that Job fills up, reducing time spent idle while waiting for [that] Job to start”.

Rockstar also announced that there will be a special Independence Day Weekend Event this weekend, but more details on that will be announced later this week.
