GTA III Now Available For iOS And Android

A special Anniversary Edition of the hugely popular Grand Theft Auto III is now available for your iPhone, iPod touch, iPad and a host of Android smartphones and tablets.

The new mobile version of the game is available in the Android Market and the App Store from today costing £3.22 and £2.99 respectively. The game will is basically a full port of the game letting you roam Liberty City as you like, beating up prostitutes and robbing old women – as you do.

There have been a couple of updates to the game including an autosave mode as well as a mission retry feature, both of which are welcome additions. The game has obviously been optimised for touchscreen devices with resizable, custom controls.

The game will only be compatible with a certain amount of Android devices, most of which are only avialble in the US, such as the HTC Rezound, Motorola Atrix 4G, Motorola Droid X2, Motorola Photon 4G, Samsung Galaxy R, T-Mobile G2x. For us European gamers, GTA II will be supported by the LG Optimus 2X and more importantly the best-selling Samsung Galaxy S II. Support for the Galaxy Nexus is “coming soon”

On the Android tablet front, those supported will include the Acer Iconia, Asus Eee Pad Transformer, Dell Streak 7, LG Optimus Pad, Motorola Xoom, Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 and 10.1, Sony Tablet S and Toshiba Thrive.

The Apple devices supported are the iPad 1 and iPad 2, the iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S as well as the fourth generation iPod touch.
