GTA 5 release date to be announced on February 5?
Update: Rockstar has confirmed that the GTA 5 release date will now be held on September 17, missing its previously planned ‘spring 2013’ arrival.
The GTA 5 release date will be officially unveiled on February 5 ahead of an eventual May launch, industry analysts have suggested.
With developer Rockstar having to date only revealed that a GTA 5 release date will be held in ‘spring 2013’, industry analysts have suggested that a precise GTA 5 release date will be formally announced on February 5, during publisher Take Two’s quarterly profits call. The latest reports come just days after new GTA 5 pictures hit the web.
Although few details have yet to be offered up on the imminent GTA 5 release date, Wedbush analyst Michael Pachter has claimed that the eagerly awaited game could touch down in May whilst teasing “we may learn the launch date next week.”
Suggesting that he continues to “expect a launch in May,” analysts Pachter recently declared in a note to investors: “Grand Theft Auto V’s release date remains elusive, frustrating shareholders.”
Teasing a potential February 5 GTA 5 release date unveiling, Pachter stated: “TTWO initially provided FY:13 EPS guidance in “excess of $2.00” in May 2011, a strong indication of GTA V’s release, but conceded that it would not ship in FY:13 last August when it lowered EPS guidance for the year to $0.00 – 0.20. Investor confidence appears shaken by repeated, unexpected, and unjustified swings in profit and loss.
He added: “If Rockstar is ready to confide in Take-Two management, we may learn the launch date next week.”
GTA 5 Release Date
Although a finalised GTA 5 release date is still very much up in the air, the eventual arrival of the latest addition to the Grand Theft Auto franchise has been the thing of much rumour and speculation for a number of months.
With a number of retailers claiming to offer details on the final GTA 5 release date, recent GTA 5 release date rumours have seen the title tipped to land anywhere between March 12 and June 19.
Whist supermarket giant claimed a GTA 5 release date would be held on March 12 and German gaming outlet Saturn teased a potential March 15 GTA 5 release date, with these prospective launch periods growing ever nearer, it is now believed the Rockstar title will launch later within the confirmed ‘spring 2013’ timeframe.
