In a bid to put pressure on the developer to bring the eagerly awaited game to PC, a petition was started earlier this year, with more than 350,000 signatures having now been palced as an attempt to see a GTA 5 PC release become a reality.
Entitled simply “Rockstar: Release GTA 5 on PC,” the petition has a staggering 365,450 supporters at the time of writing, a considerable chunk of the 500,000 signatures target.
“Please release GTA V on PC,” the petition reads. “GTA games have been a large part of so many people’s lives and it’s a big shame not seeing the newest iteration of the game being released on the most powerful platform.”
The digital plea adds: “Things like modifications have always been a HUGE part of PC gaming and modded GTA is some of the most insanely fun times you can have.”
The GTA 5 PC release petition has garnered steady support since launch, and continues to grow at a healthy rate. At the end of July, the GTA 5 PC release petition had just hit 225,000 signatures, with more than 135,000 added in the past six weeks.
While a GTA 5 PC release is still missing, gamers have also been left perturbed that the game is yet to be confirmed for next-gen consoles. With both the Xbox One and PS4 release dates scheduled for this November, Rockstar looks set to overlook the incoming consoles to focus on a last big hurrah for the outgoing gamers.
