GTA 5 Online gameplay details show continually expanding experience

Further details surrounding the GTA Online experience have emerged, confirming the GTA 5href> multiplayer will offer 500 missions.

Rockstar Games also confirmed that the entire experience will grow over time, with new content continually being added to expand the GTA 5 multiplayer.

“Grand Theft Auto Online has been in our minds for a long time – since we started on Grand Theft Auto 3,” said Leslie Benzies, Rockstar North President speaking to Game Informer. “We’ve always wanted to create a world with the complexity of a single-player Grand Theft Auto game with the addition of real players.”

To create your character in GTA Online, you’ll be able to choose their mother, father and grandparents in order to develop a genetic pool. You can then choose your character’s lifestyle and attributes to change how they behave, similar to that of the character creation of The Sims 3.

The type of character you choose will also affect what role they take in missions. Players are automatically assigned a role according to the choices you make when creating them, so if you prefer a particular role be mindful of that when designing.

“We wanted a world where people could spend years without getting bored of playing the same content over and over. I think we’ve managed to achieve something very close to our dream.”

Pretty much all the activities available in GTA 5 you’ll be able to do in GTA Online, including heists, missions, tennis, golf and base jumping.

Taking place after the main GTA 5 storyline, GTA Online missions are all accessed through Rockstar’s Social Club, which will allow the developer to continually update those available to complete.

The GTA 5 multiplayer will also introduce some rather negative traits like the fact your character can be mugged and killed. Rockstar recommends you don’t keep much money in your pockets, instead putting in the bank or using ATMs.
