Grand Theft Auto: Vice City coming to iOS and Android

Grand Theft Auto: Vice City is to be released on iOS and Android in the near future.

Rockstar Games confirmed the release on its news blog, saying that the release has been planned to coincide with the game’s 10th birthday. The original edition of Grand Theft Auto: Vice City was released on 29th October 2002 for PlayStation 2. It later appeared on the Xbox, PC and Mac.

Rockstar have not specified a price or release date for the game beyond “this fall”, but we’d expect it to cost a similar price to the iOS and Android editions of Grand Theft Auto III when they were released: £2.99, perhaps. The iOS version of GTA III has now dropped to just 69p, while it’s 63p at Android’s Google Play store.

In addition to the release of the game, Rockstar will stock their online store with a collection of new collectibles and other promotional items related to Grand Theft Auto: Vice City.

Grand Theft Auto: Vice City was the second 3D game in the series, and features a more cinematic storyline and glossier voice cast than the previous games (the main protagonist spoke too). Its 1980s setting – Vice City is essentially the Miami of Miami Vice – and soundtrack have made it quite possibly the best-loved of all the GTA titles.
