GoPro edits out secret Karma drone in first-look 4K video

Despite being formally announced, GoPro’s Karma drone is still largely a mystery.

GoPro has released a 4K teaser video of footage shot with the Karma drone – but with one small change.

The company has blurred out the device in a shot where the Karma drone would have been visible in the a pair of reflective goggles.

In the shot, freestyle skier Bobby Brown is actually holding the drone but, as you can see, there’s no Karma in sight.

It’s a clever catch by GoPro’s video team, who are clearly keen to avoid the Karma’s design leaking out early.

The video itself offers some pretty amazing extreme action footage. We’ve already seen the Karma in action courtesy of a 1080p video, but this is the first time we’ve seen 4K Ultra HD footage shot using the quadcopter.

It’s also worth noting the slow-mo sequences, which suggest the camera is capable of high-framerate video capture.

GoPro announced its intentions to build a drone late last year, although details have been scarce ever since.
