These deals will be available for a “very limited time” only – don’t sit on the fence too long. To check out the full list of bargain basement deals, head over to the Google Play website. Here are some of our favourites –

Pocket League Story – a fun football management game from Game Dev Story creator Kairosoft
World of Goo – brilliant bridge-building physics puzzler
Osmos HD – entrancing indie game
Jamie’s 20 Minute Meals – snazzy recipe app
N.O.V.A. 2 – a first-person shooter on mobile, done right
TuneIn Radio Pro – Internet radio, with recording
SoundHound – Shazam-style song identification

Google Play

This sale is representative of what the move from Android Market to the Google Play branding is all about. It’s a bit more dynamic, more inviting and more user-focused. Google has also introduced a new “Play of the Day” slot, which offers a game for a mere 20p. Today’s top pick is Where’s My Water, a fab water physics puzzler.

Google Play is more than just an app store, however. It also incorporates the Google Music service, and its book and film portals. Movies are available to rent for £3.49. We’ll stick to the 49p games.
