The new Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro were finally officially announced just last week, here’s everything you need to know if you’re thinking of buying Google’s newest smartphones.
The new Pixel 6 range was confirmed way back in August, but now it’s finally out for everyone to see, with sales starting on 28 October.
We’ve gathered some of the best deals for the Pixel 6 range – which consists of the Pixel 6 and the 6 Pro – so you know which smartphone is best for you.
Some of the biggest changes to the newest Pixel were revealed way before the phones launched; Google Tensor is the brand new mobile chip that has been developed in-house by Google since other companies couldn’t keep up.
There are only two models to choose from, but the regular and Pro model still has some distinctive features, and it can be hard to know if the flagship phone is actually worth it.

Where can I buy the Pixel 6?
The latest Pixel addition is arguably a very different phone to the Pixels that have come before; while we haven’t been able to confirm some of the statistics yet, Google is claiming that the Pixel 6 offers an 80% faster performance over the Pixel 5, making this a worthy upgrade if it’s true.
Deputy and mobile editor Max Parker claimed that the Pixel 6 is the first phone this year that feels “interesting and actually new,” which speaks to how Google has completely overhauled the latest smartphone.
Meanwhile, the Pixel 6 Pro was called “one of 2021’s best camera and Android phones,” by the editor of Trusted Reviews, Alastair Stevenson.
Both phones feature the new Tensor chip, the Titan M2 coprocessor and new camera setups, with a couple of differences that make the Pixel 6 Pro stand out against its younger brother.

Pixel 6
The Pixel 6 is the obvious choice if you’re after an upgrade, replacing the Pixel 5 this new model offers a lot of the same features as the Pro, at a cheaper price.
This includes a 6.4-inch OLED display, HDR support and 1080 x 2400 resolution. This model is missing the variable 120Hz refresh rate that comes with the Pro model, as this one caps out at 90Hz.
The Pixel 6 also features two cameras, at 50MP and 12MP, with a wide lens and an ultrawide lens. The front camera is 8MP and also features fixed focus.

The Pixel 6 Pro is Google’s first-ever Pro model, also making it the first flagship smartphone for the company.
The Pro has a lot of the same features as the Pixel 6, but with added benefits like a 120Hz variable refresh rate. This means that the phone will alter its refresh rate depending on the workload; if you’re watching TV or playing a game the refresh rate will go higher to maintain a fluid experience, but it can drop to as low as 10Hz to conserve battery if you’re just reading a block of text and not scrolling.
