Google Nexus 5 benchmarks points to most powerful smartphone ever

New Google Nexus 5 benchmarks have leaked, hinting that the upcoming Google Nexus 4 follow-on could be the most powerful smartphone to date.

With recent Google Nexus 5 rumours suggesting that Samsung Galaxy S4 rival will run the new quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor similar to the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 and LG G2, latest reports have claimed that only the iPhone 5S will match the upcoming handset on power.

According to leaked GFXBench benchmark results, the Google Nexus 5 scored exactly the same as the recently released flagship Apple phone, eclipsing the likes of the Sony Xperia Z1 and HTC One on the way.

Despite being believed to run the same chipset as some existing Android rivals, the Google Nexus 5 benchmark results have hinted that the phone will either host a higher GHz CPU than the competition, or pack in a shedload of RAM.

With a Google Nexus 5 release date having been tipped for October 31, recent Google Nexus 5 rumours have suggested that the phone will be manufactured by LG and be based largely around the narrow bezel design of the LG G2.

Expected to see 3GB of RAM line up alongside the quad-core CPU, the Google Nexus 5 specs sheet has also been mooted to benefit from a 13-megapixel rear-mounted camera and a 5-inch, 1080p Full HD display.

With Google having formally announced Android 4.4 KitKat earlier this month, it is widely believed that the Google Nexus 5 will become the first device to come pre-installed with the next-gen operating system.
