Google Nexus 4 phone pre-orders resume shipping following delays

Google Nexus 4 pre-orders are to begin shipping once again after the Android 4.2 Jelly Bean handset sold out within 30 minutes of the November 13 Google Nexus 4 UK release date.

With the Google Play store still lacking stock of the quad-core handset with the budget price tag, Google has alerted those who managed to pre-order the device that their smartphone purchase will arrive later this week, two weeks on from the device’s launch.

“Your Nexus 4 order is scheduled to ship this week,” a new email sent by Google to those who pre-order the Google Nexus 4 handset stated. “We’ll send you a notification, including tracking information, when it’s on the way.”

The shipping statement added: “As a courtesy and to thank you for your patience, you’ll then receive a credit for the shipping charge within 7 business days.”

Whilst Google continues to struggle to meet the high demand for its Samsung Galaxy S3 and iPhone 5 rival, UK network provider Three recently revealed that it will begin stocking the Google Nexus 4 release from December 13, a date that marks O2’s one month period of exclusivity for the device.

Google Nexus 4 Specs
Available in 8GB and 16GB storage capacities, the Google Nexus 4 has become a leader of the smartphone market, capturing consumers with its combination of a high-end specs sheet and wallet friendly price tag that sees the two iterations of the device set wannabe owners back £239 and £279 respectively.

Lining up at 139g in weight and just 9.1mm thick, the glass backed Google Nexus 4 plays host to a zippy 1.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro processor alongside a 4.7-inch WXGA IPS display that features a stunning 1280 x 768p resolution and 320ppi image density. Winning the handset’s screen added brownie points, the Google Nexus 4 display is finished in Corning Gorilla Glass 2 for added protection.

With a hefty 2GB of RAM also thrown into the mix, the impressive Google Nexus 4 features list is rounded off by an 8-megapixel rear-mounted camera and a second, 1.3-megapixel snapper up front. With a 2,100mAh Lithium polymer battery keeping the handset chugging along, Google’s Android 4.2 Jelly Bean OS runs the show.
