Google has announced it is expanding its Google Express delivery service, to enable customers in San Francisco and an as-yet-unnamed US city to receive grocery deliveries.
The company has teamed up with health food chain Whole Foods to offer an alternative to Amazon’s Prime Fresh service.
The company has also extended other facets of the next-day delivery service to the midwest region of the United States (via Guardian).
The scheme currently offers free delivery from the likes of Target, Barnes & Noble, Walgreens, Toys ‘R’ Us, Staples, Fry’s and many more household names.
It is now available in Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, Ohio and Wisconsin, as well as the whole of Illinois beyond Chicago.

Google is yet to announce which additional city will get the Whole Foods deliveries before the year is out.
