Google Chrome for iPhone gets full-screen browsing and AirPrint

Google has updated its Chrome web browser for iOS devices, bringing full-screen functionality for iPhone and iPod touch users.

Version 26 of the iOS version of the popular web browser allows users to simply scroll down when reading the page to make the toolbar disappear.

As soon as the user begins to scrolls back up the page, the toolbar, which includes the URL bar, back button and menu reappears on the screen meaning they won’t have to navigate all the way back to access the toolbar.

Overall it means pages are easier to read but the important stuff isn’t too far away once you’ve finished reading a page.

Beyond that neat addition, Chrome 26 for iOS also adds support for Google’s Cloud Print as well as Apple’s own AirPrint solution on all iOS devices, including the iPad.

Finally, the update allows users to save webpages to Google Drive as PDF files.

Has the continually improving Google Chrome browser for iPad convinced you to ditch Apple’s stock Safari browser yet?

Or is the integrated nature of Safari within iOS and the built-in interconnectivity between it and Apple’s other baked-in features enough to keep you within the company’s own ecosystem. Let us know in the comments below.
