The cast of characters set to appear in Microsoft’s Gears of War 4 have been revealed, and some of them may surprise you.
The three new characters were announced as part of this month’s GameInformer magazine, which includes a 14-page feature on the upcoming game.
JD Fenix (middle) is the primary protagonist of Gears of War 4, and the son of series veteran Marcus Fenix. JD is a COG militia gone AWOL following events we’ll soon discover when the game drops later this year.
Kait Diaz (right) is a confident young woman raised outside of the walled cities that protect humanity, finding herself in a rebel group known as The Outsiders.
Finally, Delmont “Del” Walker (left) is another ex-COG soldier. Having been childhood friends with JD, they both joined the army together, forming a bond akin to Marcus Fenix and Dominic Santiago in the original game.
Developer The Coalition has confirmed that the game will take place 25 years following the events of Gears of War 3. We’ll be able to explore a different vision of Sera, the game’s fictonal planet, complete with mysterious new enemies and locations.
Gears of War 4 will launch exclusively for the Xbox One later this year, and is set to be a “graphical showcase” for Microsoft’s console.
The game may also be coming to PC, judging by recent rumours and the release of Killer Instinct and Gears of War: Ultimate Edition on Windows 10.
