Own a Samsung Galaxy S9? This Mophie Juice Pack might tempt you

Mophie has announced a new Juice Pack for the Samsung Galaxy S9 that gives you an extra 2070mAh worth of on-the-go battery life and offers the kind of durable protection you’d expect from a hard-shell phone case.

There’s a reason we have no problem recommending Mophie’s accessories and it’s simple: they’re almost always fantastic. The Juice Pack for the Galaxy S9 is unlikely to be an exception, housing a 2070mAh battery, which can be used to partially replenish the 3000mAh cell on the Galaxy S9.

The design of the Juice Pack is quite minimalistic, featuring an LED status bar à la the pre-Retina MacBook Pro on the back that indicates how much juice the unit has left in increments of 25%.

There’s also a cut-out on the bottom to force the sound from the handset’s bottom-mounted speaker up towards the user’s face and a large window on the Juice Pack’s rear to allow the device’s camera to function properly, and a small slit which your USB charging cable will call home. As with similar Mophie accessories, you can opt to replenish just the case, or to charge your phone and the Juice Pack simultaneously.

That’s it.

“The powerful Juice Pack battery case for the Galaxy S9 provides additional protection for your phone with internal rubberised support pads that protect your phone from drops and falls and raised corners that help prevent scratched and cracked screens,” reads the product description on Mophie’s UK website.

Mophie says the Juice Pack will be available to purchase (from its website) in Europe and North America by the end of the month. It will be priced at £89.95 in the United Kingdom and $100 in the United States. Elsewhere, it’ll retail for €100 – use a reliable currency converter to find out how much that is in your local coinage.
