Four new Marvel vs Capcom Infinite characters revealed – including Spider-Man

Four new playable characters have been revealed for the upcoming fighting game Marvel vs Capcom: Infinite, including the eternally popular Spider-Man.

We’re in peak geek season as Comic-Con International plays host to major announcements in the world of comic books, so it’s no surprise that we’ve glimpsed more content from Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite. During the Marvel Games panel, Capcom showed off a new trailer for the upcoming game, which introduces a number of new playable characters.

There were four new additions in total, although Spider-Man was the only character representing Marvel’s intellectual property. Capcom, meanwhile, will be supplying Frank West (Dead Rising), Mike Haggar (Final Fight) and, perhaps most excitingly, Nemesis (Resident Evil). It’s worth noting that all four characters have appeared in previous Marvel vs. Capcom games.

The official trailer is still unavailable for the wider public, but you can check out a brief snippet via Twitter below:

Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite is the sixth main entry into the Marvel vs. Capcom series of crossover games, and was announced during the Sony PlayStation Experience event in December last year. The game is slated to appear on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Microsoft Windows, and is expected to launch on September 19 in North America and Europe, with a later September 21 release for Japan.

The game will follow the typical Marvel vs. Capcom format of beat-’em-up fighting using characters from both universes. Infinite will feature two-on-two fights however, unlike the three-on-three tag-team battles offered in previous entries to the series.
