Forza Horizon 2 Presents Fast & Furious is a brand new expansion pack coming out March 27.
The successful movie franchise is teaming up with Forza dev Turn 10 for a video game based on the cars and missions of the Fast & Furious films.
Forza Horizon 2 Presents Fast & Furious will launch on March 27 on the Xbox One and Xbox 360.
“We’ve been talking to the folks at Turn 10 for a number of years and have always wanted to work together,” said Bill Kispert, Executive VP of Digital Licensing at Faster and Furious speaking to the Associated Press. “It was a matter of schedules, capacity and a film coming together at the right time. It finally has, and we’re excited to collaborate with Turn 10.”
Although it’s got Forza Horizon 2 in the title, this standalone title won’t actually require the game to play.
Microsoft has confirmed the game will be available for free from its March 27 release date until April 10, in order to promote the April 3 launch of the film, Furious 7.
After that date, you’ll need to pay for this one-off title.
Forza Horizon 2 Presents Fast & Furious is set before the events of Furious 7 and sees you play as a driver in France. You’ll need to source vehicles for mechanic Tej Parker – played by Chris “Ludacris” Bridges in both the film and the game.
“We weren’t interested in doing yet another movie-based game,” said Alan Hartman, Studio Head at Turn 10. “That’s not what our franchise is about. When we started talking about this with Universal years ago, it was really about bringing both of our franchise’s strengths to the table. We’re building on top of everything we’ve done over the past decade.”
Forza Horizon 2 Presents Fast & Furious will include cars such as the 1998 Toyota Supra, 1970 Plymouth Road Runner, 2012 Nissan GT-R and a 2013 Jeep Wrangler.
