Mark Zuckerberg’s wealth has rocketed to lofty new heights, according the latest figures.
Forbes has posted its annual ranking of billionaires, revealing the climbing capital of Facebook’s founder and CEO.
According to the report, Zuckerberg now boasts an incredible net worth of $44.6 billion. What’s staggering is that the new figure is an $11.2 billion increase on last year’s total.
That means Zuckerberg now ranks as the sixth-richest person on the planet. But Zuckerberg isn’t the only prominent technologist to retain well-padded coffers in 2016.

Bill Gates is still the richest man on earth, with a list-leading net worth of $75 billion.
Amazon boss Jeff Bezos ranks fifth, meanwhile, with an impressive $45.2 billion value.
In 11th and 12th places are Google founders Larry Page and Sergey Brin, who lay claim to respective net worths of $35.2 billion and $34.4 billion.
Michael Dell – the founder and CEO of Dell – is 35th on the list with $19.8 billion, while Tesla’s Elon Musk ranks 94th with a not-to-be-scoffed-at $10.7 billion.
