Fitbit Force fitness tracking band incoming

Fitbit is reportedly preparing a new fitness tracking band called the Fitbit Force, offering a smarter wrist-worn fitness aid.

Entering above the company’s current model, the Fitbit Flex, the Fitbit Force will introduce a built-in altimeter and other features to make it a smarter fitness tracker.

According to The Verge who acquired some promotional images of the device, the Fitbit Force will have an improved display that is capable of offering additional fitness information.

A new Floors statistic shows you how many stairs you’ve climbed each day and an in-built altimeter presents your current altitude.

There’s a physical button on the Fitbit Force too, which wearers can supposedly use to cycle through settings and change the display.

Seemingly partially water-resistant like the Fitbit Flex, we doubt the Fitbit Force will be your swimming buddy but the button will make the wristband easier to use when wet.

Currently, the Fitbit Flex works by you tapping the device to enable its functions, which can be a little temperamental.

Another useful feature of the Fitbit Force is that it can actually be used as a watch, as it includes a digital watch face. This will give the Force an edge over competitors like the Jawbone Up.
