Final Fantasy 15 will finally launch in 2016
Final Fantasy 15 will finally launch in 2016, game director Hajime Tabata has confirmed.
The wait is almost over. Final Fantasy XV will launch in 2016, Square Enix confirmed in an official blog post earlier this week.
“We will finally release FFXV this year, in 2016!” game director Hajime Tabata said.
“In development, previous phases required wisdom and strength. However, moving forward the final phase will focus on effort and willpower.”
The game is in the final stretch of development, judging by the early parts of Tabata’s statement.

Tabata continues by passionately declaring how hard the team is working on the project, which has been in development now for almost a decade.
“I vow to you all that every member in the team will do their best to the very last possible moment taking responsibility and pride in their craft. We will do everything we can do to finish FFXV to create an experience we are incredibly proud of and one that you will enjoy and treasure.”
“The whole FFXV team appreciates all of the support from each and everyone one of you this past year. I cannot tell you how much it means to all of us.”

Final Fantasy XV was first announced in 2006, back when it was known as Final Fantasy Versus XIII.
The title change was revealed at E3 2013, and development shifted from PS3 to PS4 and Xbox One.
Square Enix previously said it plans to announce a full release date for Final Fantasy XV at a special event in March 2016.
