Final Fantasy 15 DLC will continue into 2019, Square Enix confirms

Square Enix has confirmed it will continue to support Final Fantasy 15 with additional content leading into and throughout 2019.

Speaking during a panel at PAX East in Boston (via ResetEra), the publisher detailed new episodic content and updates it has planned for the popular JRPG.

As with previous episodes, the four planned throughout 2019 will focus on a slate of specific characters. In this case, it will be Ardyn, Aranea, Luna and Noctis.

No release date or pricing information was disclosed during the panel, and it remains unclear whether a new season pass will be released containing the episodes.

In addition to further episodic content, Square Enix also revealed plans for Final Fantasy 15’s Comrades multiplayer expansion.

A standalone release is planned for the expansion in 2018 alongside refinements and a duo of substantial content updates.

Final Fantasy 15: Royal Edition launched for PS4, Xbox One and PC in March 2018 and included all previously released downloadable content alongside a bunch of new features.

Time will tell whether Square Enix will release the JRPG a third time in 2019 once more content has been released, or if it will make them available as digital only.
