Fallout 4 launch sales up over 200% on New Vegas
There’s no surprises what’s topping the UK games sales chart this week, with Fallout 4 launch sales up over 200% on Fallout: New Vegas.
With the sheer amount of hype surrounding the latest entry in Bethesda’s post-apocalyptic series, there’s no wonder that it shot to the UK sales chart.
Fallout 4’s launch sales were 213% higher than the last entry, Fallout 3: New Vegas, according to the UK numbers tracked by company Chart-Track.
Bethesda hasn’t yet released official sales figures for the game, but the publisher has said it shipped 12 million copies of the game ahead of launch to retailers.

However, despite the lack of official figures, it seems Fallout 4 has been a massive success.
It surpassed Steam’s previous record for the highest amount of concurrent players last Friday with over 470,000 gamers playing at once, and over 1.2 million Fallout 4 owners registered on day one.
The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim shipped 7 million copies when it launched in 2011, with its Steam concurrent play record standing at 280,000.
Although Rise of the Tomb Raider was released on the same day as Fallout 4, it was pretty much eclipsed by the Bethesda title.
Here’s the top ten according to the UK sales figures:
1. Fallout 4
2. Call of Duty: Black Ops 3
3. FIFA 16
4. Rise of the Tomb Raider
5. Minecraft: Story Mode
6. Need for Speed
7. Football Manager 2016
