Exspect Launches Simple Yet Brilliant Travel Charger

At last, a charger that realises the whole world revolves around USB.

This may be about the most simple product news story I’ve written in five years on TrustedReviews but it is also one of the most welcome…

Taking a long, deep breath from the ‘Thank God Someone Got Around to It’ jar is Exspect which has launched a gadget no regular jet setter should be without: the ‘Triple USB Travel Charger’. It’s benefit is obvious in both name and photography: it slaps three USB ports into a single plug and bundles interchangeable ends so it will work anywhere in the world.

Yes, this is a charger that realises ”everything” these days charges over USB (and why on earth hasn’t every other travel charger manufacturer?!). Consequently you should save on bulk and unnecessary cables since your phone, MP3 player/PMP, GPS, etc can all happily power up simultaneously from a single device. If we’re going to eek out one other benefit: it makes environmental sense too both abroard and in the home. The charger itself also supports the Energy Star rating so once a device(s) have been charged it will drop its energy consumption.

The Exspect Triple USB Travel Charger goes on sale imminently with a £19.99 RRP. Given it’s a) three chargers in one and b) something to make life just that little bit easier, I’d suggest that’s a price worth paying. I’ll certainly be packing one for our trip to IFA next month…

”’Update:”’ Following user requests, we’ve had word back from Exspect about the power output. In it’s own words:

“If the total power consumption of all three accessories connected to the charger exceeds 1500mA, charging times will be extended. As normal USB devices are under 500mA, a maximum of 1500mA should suit the majority of users.”
