Evolve Xbox One pre-purchase lets you skip grinding

Anyone who pre-purchases the Evolve Xbox One digital edition will be able to skip some of the game’s grind, with instant access to Wraith and tier three hunters.

Future Xbox One gamers will be able to skip some of the game’s grind if they pre-purchase Evolve on the Xbox Games Store.

Pre-purchasing is the system of pre-ordering digital titles from the Xbox Games store, which charges you when you place the order. That game will then pre-download ahead of the release date, ready to play come launch day.

2K Games has confirmed that Xbox One owners who pre-purchase Evolve before or during the Evolve beta this week will get to play Wraith during said beta.

But, more importantly, those individuals who pre-purchase during that time will also get “exclusive instant access” to Wraith and the third tier of hunters (Parnell, Abe, Caira and Cabot) for the duration of the beta and when the full game is released.

The Evolve open beta runs from Thursday January 15 to Monday January 19 on Xbox One.

Everyone else will have access to the first two tiers of hunters and the first two monsters, Goliath and Kraken, during the open beta.

The way Eovle works is that different characters sit in tiers for each class. In the full game, you’ll have to unlock characters by reaching a specific level of “mastery” with the weapons of the character from the previous tier.

That goes for all four of the hunter classes and the monsters. You’ll only be able access Goliath and the four tier one hunters at the start.

All pre-order customers will get the Monster Expansion Pack at launch, which will add a fourth playable monster after launch along with the Savage Goliath skin.

2K Games has set the Evolve release date as February 10 on PS4, Xbox One and PC.
