Evolve launch day 3GB patch to improve loading times

Evolve will need a 3GB day one patch that will improve loading times for the game.

Turtle Rock Studios’ 4v1 FPS title will require a 3GB day one update in order to improvement the game’s performance.

Due to be released tomorrow, February 10, you’ll be faced with a beefy initial update to download before you can start playing.

The update will improve loading times and make other tweaks to the game to make it optimal for your first play.

“As we strive to push the engine and cram as much as possible into your Evolve experience, we’re also working to optimise performance on your system,” explained Turtle Rock. “These improvements range from load times to improving matchmaking and network bandwidth optimizations.”

The update also introduces some balancing tweaks based on information gathered during the Evolve beta in January.

Turtle Rock will address any bugs unearthed during the beta too, along with new Elite skins for Hunters and Monsters.

Finally, the patch will add support for connectivity to the Evolve Hunters Quest app.

“In one respect, it’s a fun Match-3 puzzle combat game. But it also has ties to the main console game through the my2K servers. Earn experience and watch overhead match replays through the app.”

The Evolve Hunters Quest app is free to download on Android, iOS and Windows Phone.

“This update comes from lessons learned in the Big Alpha and Open beta. We aren’t stopping here. As we make improvements to the game – and we will – keep your eyes posted for updates like this on the Evolve News Blog.”
