Entire Rock Band Track List Free DLC For Rock Band 2

Buy one game, download the prequels content free. That's, like, totally radical dude!

If there’s one way for Harmonix to irk purchasers of Rock Band, then giving away all the tracks included that that game to buyers of Rock Band 2 is probably it. According to IGN’s Nate Ahern (sourced via Kotaku) that’s exactly what’s going to be happening. And I thought that not getting a firm European release date was mad…

As Ahern points out, for those of us who didn’t buy Rock Band (still no UK PS3 version EA!?) the ability to play all those tracks will be a great boon. It also should give Rock Band 2 a much bigger initial track listing that Guitar Hero: World Tour, with which it obviously competes.

Given World Tour will allow players to create their own music it’s less of a concern for anyone who’s placed their loyalty with that camp. Eventually every track ever made could, potentially at least, be available to play on Guitar Hero. All that’s required is willpower – and probably some skill.

From an out-of-the-box experience point of view though, Rock Band 2 is going to have a lot going for it. First Harmonix tell us all Rock Band downloadable content is already compatible and now we hear that we’re getting a whole game’s worth of content for free. That’s rock and roll for you, unpredictably crazy at best!
