From guttural grunts to spoken word to written text to emoji – so goes the evolution of language.
To capitalise on that trend, a US start-up has unveiled a fully functioning emoji keyboard.
EmojiWorks’ keypad has a dedicated emoji modifier key that lets you type out all kinds of emoticons – smiling faces, grinning poops, and even the lascivious winky face.
There are three models on offer, each with more emoji than the last: Emoji Keyboard ($79.95), Emoji Keyboard Plus ($89.95), and Emoji Keyboard Pro($99.95).

“You’ve been hunting emoji on your screen for years but now they’re right on your keyboard,” reads the EmojiWorks website.
It continues: “Spend less time playing ‘find the emoji’ and more time being awesome.”

EmojiWorks also understands that we’re not all coloured like the Simpsons.
As such, it’s included skin tone modifier keys that let you change the hue of your smileys – on the Plus and Pro models only.
Modifier keys
The keyboard is Bluetooth enabled, and works with Mac, iOS, and Windows devices. They’re available for pre-order right now, although EmojiWorks says there’s a limited supply.
