EE Buzzard launched as in-car 4G Wi-Fi

EE has launched its first in-car 4G Wi-Fi dongle, the EE Buzzard.

The EE Buzzard plugs into your car’s cigarette lighter and lets you turn your vehicle into a 4G Wi-Fi hub, keeping your family and passengers happy on long journeys.

You can connect up to 10 devices at any one time to the EE Buzzard’s personal hotspot, which is perfect for those looking to keep their tablets and smartphones connected.

Apparently, this is the first in a range of car products from EE, and to begin with the network provider will only be targeting after-sale car devices.

“We are talking to car manufacturers”, said Pippa Dunn, Chief Marketing Officer at EE, adding that the focus is for after-sale products, as they are aiming to satisfy existing customer demand. “Buzzard is the first in a long line of products”

The EE Buzzard is neatly presented in a luminous yellow canister, which has been designed to fit nicely in your car’s cup holder for easy storage.

Available from May 28, the Buzzard is being offered for £19 up-front on tariffs starting at £10 per month. If you pay any more though on a 24 month contract, you’ll get the device for free.

As for PAYG, you can pick up the EE Buzzard for £49.99.
