EE has announced that it has seen over 1 million customers join its 4G network in the 10 months since launch.
Over one million smartphone users have already signed up to a 4GEE contract, with EE reaching its milestone four month ahead of its initial schedule.
More than 100 UK locations already have 4GEE network coverage and EE has also launched double-speed 4G connections in selected locations across the country.
“The UK mobile sector saw a huge shift 10 months ago with the launch of 4G from EE,” said Olaf Swantee, CEO of EE. “We set a new standard for UK mobile networks, and the way consumers and businesses are busy using their mobile devices in this country has been transformed.”
O2 and Vodafone have also just launched their own 4G networks, which will provide some friendly competition on the superfast mobile broadband market.
EE has also teased new “innovative plans” for 4G tariffs coming in the near future. The UK network states that it will provide “even more ways for people to get the fastest speeds and the best value plans.”
“We know that all communities across Britain want 4G, not just those in the big urban centres, and we’re committed to continuing to roll out superfast mobile at this record breaking pace.”
Last week, EE said that 4G connectivity is coming to all price points rather than being limited to flagship phones like the Samsung Galaxy S4, HTC One and iPhone 5.
More mid-range and budget phones will soon get 4G LTE compatibility, so we expect EE’s future tariffs will reflect that prediction.
